A fan-made planning tool for My Hero Ultra Rumble —
work out which costume actually fits the Tuning effects you want,
build and share loadouts, and see the real combined numbers before you
spend anything in-game.
The MHUR Tuning Optimizer helps you figure out which costume best fits
the Tuning effects you actually want, instead of manually checking
dozens of costumes one at a time. Pick a character, choose the effects
you're after — Max HP+, Quirk Skill Attack Power+, a specific Special
Tuning, whatever — and it ranks every costume by how well it can
actually fit them, slot by slot, restrictions and all.
It's free, needs no account to use the optimizer, and runs entirely in
your browser. An account is only needed to save builds across devices
and to publish them to Community Builds.
2 · How to use the app
Finding the right costume
Pick your character in panel 1. The dropdown
searches as you type and shows each character's portrait, so you can
spot them fast.
Choose the Tuning effects you want in panel 3. Tick
as many as you like — the more you pick, the harder it is for one
costume to fit them all, which is exactly what the ranking measures.
Use the ☰ button in the search bar to jump
straight to a family of effects — Attack, Defense, Max, Reload,
Speed+ or Jump. Pick the same one again to clear it, or just type in
the box to search freely. Filtering only changes what you're looking
at; anything already ticked stays ticked.
Optionally add Special Tunings. These act as a hard
filter — a costume has to be able to hold them to appear at all.
Turning on Fixer lets the optimizer account for Monoma's
column doubling.
Optionally turn on effect priority. Off, the app
maximises your total buff value. On, it protects your #1 effect
first, then #2, and so on — see §5 for what
that trades away.
Read the results. Costumes are ranked by buff
value. Open any result to see its full scoring breakdown and the
exact placement the score is based on.
Building and sharing a loadout
Hit "Create a Build" on a result to open the Build
Editor with that costume's slots pre-filled with the recommended
placement.
Adjust any slot from its dropdown. The app enforces
the real in-game rules for you: a card can't go in a slot of the
wrong type, Hero/Villain-restricted slots only take matching cards,
you can't equip a character's own tunings, and one physical card
can't occupy two slots.
Use "✨ Fill Slots" to see what still fits in your
remaining empty slots, ranked by how strong each effect would end
up. Press Add on a row to equip that effect in the best
remaining slots automatically.
Check "View Tuning Totals" for the real combined
percentages — the numbers you'd actually feel in a match.
Save it to keep it in My Builds, then optionally
Publish it to Community Builds,
Copy Link to share it directly, or
Download Build Image for a shareable card.
Tip: a published build and its Community listing are
the same thing. While a build is published its loadout is locked —
name, description and tags stay editable. Unpublish it to change the
tunings.
3 · The pages
Optimizer — the main tool. Pick a character, choose
desired effects, see the best costumes for what you want.
Build Editor — create a build by selecting the
tunings for a costume and see the exact stat bonuses you get in
total.
My Builds — builds you've saved. Stored in this
browser, and synced to your account when you're signed in.
Community Builds — builds anyone has published,
searchable and filterable by character and tag. Use
🔀 Shuffle to browse them in a fresh random order.
Recommended — per-character build ideas by
archetype. Still a work in progress.
4 · How the numbers work
Tuning level values come from community-sourced data on the effects
shown in-game, cross-checked against a public good-to-knows writeup.
Percentage-based stats (Attack Power+, Defense+, Reload+, Speed+)
stack
multiplicatively when you equip more than one — two +2.5%
cards compound to +5.0625%, not a flat +5%. Flat stats (jump height,
Max HP+/GP+) just add up directly. The "Tuning Totals" button on a
build shows the actual combined total for everything currently
equipped, Fixer stat doubling included.
5 · How costume scoring works
When you pick a set of desired effects, every costume is ranked by a
buff value — a single number measuring how well that
costume's slots can actually equip the effects you asked for, with
every filled slot assumed to be at its max level. A higher buff value
means the costume fits your selected effects better; it's a ranking
aid, not an in-game stat. For the real combined percentages, use
"Tuning Totals".
The value rewards fitting more of your chosen effects, and rewards
stronger slots more heavily — Hero/Villain-restricted slots (which
reach level 4 instead of 3) and, for Monoma, the Fixer column doubling
both count for more. Special-tuning slots act as a hard filter: a
costume must be able to hold them, but they don't add to the score.
Whatever build the score describes is exactly the build the app
recommends for that costume — the number and the placement can never
disagree. Open any costume in the results to see its full scoring
breakdown.
Effect priority changes what "best" means. With priority
off, placement maximises the total buff value across
all your effects. With priority on, the optimiser
first gets the biggest possible result for your #1 effect — stacking
as many #1 cards into the best slots as physically fit — then
optimises #2, then #3, and so on. A high-priority effect can crowd
lower ones out of a slot entirely, so turning priority on can
lower the total buff value; when it does, the score simply
reports the true value of the priority-respecting build it recommends.

Worth including when you report something:
What page you were on, and what you were trying to do.
Phone or desktop, and which browser.
A screenshot, if anything looked visually wrong.
If a number looks off — the character, costume and effects involved.
Balance patches change Tuning values. If you spot a value that no
longer matches the game, say so on Discord — that's the quickest way
to get it corrected for everyone.
8 · Known limitations
Per-slot enhancement level isn't tracked — totals assume every
filled slot is already at its own max level for that slot (3
normally, 4 for Hero/Villain-restricted slots).
Special Tuning totals aren't included in the Tuning Totals breakdown
— I figured this would be redundant, as most people already know
what they do. If enough people ask, I'll implement it.
Damage numbers aren't shown. The game appears to round each hit up,
so a percentage bonus is worth different amounts on different moves;
modelling that properly needs per-move hit data I haven't finished
collecting.
Effect values are community-sourced and may drift from the live game
after balance updates — I'll update them as quickly as I can.
